CAMEL RACE-TRACK AND SHEIKH FAISAL MUSEUM TOUR

 

Enjoy one hour drive north of Doha to visit Al-Shahaniya, the official Camel racetrack in Qatar.  A tour through the training grounds will educate you on the culture of camel breeding and racing. A visit to the Al-Shahaniya camel racetrack is a unique opportunity to admire some of the most expensive camels in the world. The tour will continue with a visit to the nearby Sheikh Faisal Private Museum, which showcases thousands of artifacts vintage cars, paintings, international art etc. During our “Camel Race and Sheikh Faisal Museum”  tour you  will learn about one of the oldest Arab sports and you visit one of the largest private collections of vintage cars in Asia at the museum.

The tour starts from the hotel, and we will head North to Al-Shahaniya where the Sheikh Faisal Museum is located. We will visit Al- Shahaniya camel racetrack, training sessions that take place twice a day, in the morning and in the evening. Each session last about 45 minutes. Camel racing has been part of the Qatari heritage for centuries. From November to March, camel racing at the Al-Shahaniya racing track is in full swing.

Our tour continues with the visit of Sheikh Faisal Bin Qassim Al Thani Museum, one of the biggest private museums in the world and owned by one of the royal family members– Sheikh Faisal. The Car Museum, with its vintage car collection and other vehicles like trucks, convertibles, steam cars, and limousines is the highlight of this museum. Once our excursion is over, your guide will take you back to the hotel
